You have plenty of company if you are bothered by pain in your back. Doctors estimate that somewhere in their lives seven out of ten people will be disturbed by such pain. But you'd probably get seven different stories if you were to ask every single one of these people to describe their neck pain.

Pain in the Muscle- Excessive physical or emotional stress may occur in your neck and shoulder muscles. The muscles of the neck that grow hard nodes, often referred to as triggers.

Spasm of the muscle- It is a fast, heavy neck tightening. Your neck can feel hurt and sore or heavy, and your head cannot turn. It's probably muscle spasm when you wake up with a sore, rigid neck. Muscle spasm can be caused by a muscle injury or by a spinal disc, an emotional stress or a nerve problem. Often no clear cause exists, however.

Headache- Pain related to neck on your head is usually felt in the back or upper neck, resulting in muscle tension or spasm. Headaches related to the neck tend to be painful or dull instead of sharp; the neck may feel tender or rigid. It gets worse by moving your neck.

Joint pain facet- The pain of the facet joints (part of the neck vertebrae), which is sometimes described as deep, sharp or dull, generate worse pain if you lean your head towards the affected side and may radiate into your shoulder or back. Arthritis can feel worse in the morning or after an inactive period in facet joints, just like in other places.

Extreme pain in the nerve – Pinching or irritation in the spinal nerve roots may result in sharp, fluid, extreme or pin and needle pain. The pain may shoot down your arm or even your hand depending on the nerve involved.

Referred pain- The pain in one part of the body caused by another part of the body. The referred pain is pain. Experience may suggest a problem of the heart; for example, neck pain that worsens when exercising may be caused by an esophagus problem.

Bone pain- Sickness and sensitivity are much less common in cervical vertebrae than soft tissue pain in the neck. Medical treatment is required because bone pain may signify a more serious health condition. You and your doctor can do many things, such as a mix of self-help methods and counter-control medications, to treat and alleviate the pain.
