About Dr. Tibbs

Robert E. Tibbs, Jr., M.D. is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Neuroscience Specialists with more than 20 years in practice. He earned his B.S. from Auburn University and his M.D. from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, followed by a General Surgery internship at the Mayo Clinic. He completed his neurosurgical residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and a spine fellowship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, joining Neuroscience Specialists in 2001.

Dr. Tibbs's clinical focus includes lumbar artificial disc replacement, spinal cord stimulation, and a full range of spine surgery. He also performs independent medical evaluations for personal injury, liability, and workers' compensation cases. His published research has appeared in Neurosurgery, Journal of Neurosurgery, and Pediatric Neurosurgery, and he has presented nationally on cerebral vasospasm, Von Hippel-Lindau disease, and pediatric neurosurgical topics.
