About Dr. Archer
Jacob B. Archer, M.D., MBA is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Neuroscience Specialists and a third-generation Oklahoma City physician. A lifelong Oklahoman, Dr. Archer earned his B.S. in Neuroscience magna cum laude from Texas Christian University before returning home to complete his M.D. at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He then completed a seven-year neurosurgical residency at Indiana University School of Medicine — earning an MBA from the Kelley School of Business along the way and serving as Director of Spine ERAS Implementation — followed by an advanced complex spine fellowship in 2022. Over his training, Dr. Archer authored or co-authored 18 peer-reviewed publications and delivered more than 13 presentations at national meetings including SMISS, CNS, and AANS.
Dr. Archer's clinical practice spans the full spectrum of cervical and lumbar spine surgery, with specialized expertise in adult spinal deformity correction, revision spine surgery, and second-opinion evaluations for patients with persistent symptoms after prior procedures. He has a particular interest in the TOPS™ facet replacement system — a motion-preserving alternative to lumbar fusion — and is passionate about ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) protocols that reduce opioid reliance and accelerate return to normal activity. Dr. Archer utilizes the latest neuronavigation and intraoperative imaging technology to maximize surgical precision and minimize radiation exposure. A proud Oklahoma City native, he is raising boy-girl twins and is honored to serve the community where he grew up.
